Mrs R.A.Foster  N.S.A.  ( Rebecca Fisher)

 

Nottingham flower painter in Watercolour and oil paint. Rebecca Fisher of Scarrington House married the artist Herbert Wilson Foster at Scarrington in 1894. Both husband and wife exhibited at Nottingham Castle Local Artists' exhibitions.

She was elected Associate member of the Nottingham Society of Artists in 1913 and a full member in 1915. Between 1898-1939 she exhibited 157 works at the Nottingham Museum and Art Gallery, 2 at the Royal Society of Artists, Birmingham and 1 at the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool. Her work was reproduced as postcards and "OIlettes" by Raphael Tuck and Sons.

These paintings are framed with high end conservation mountboards which are light-fast and acid-free. They have hand crafted washline mounts.The hinge backs are the same quality. The glass is sealed to prevent dust or bugs getting to the picture.
